1. Farmer leaders to observe 9-hour hunger strike today

Leaders of agitating farmer unions said they will hold a one-day hunger strike on Monday and protests will be held in all district headquarters to press their demand for the repeal of the new farm laws. Farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni said the leaders will observe the hunger strike at their respective places between 8 AM to 5 PM on Monday. 2. Yediyurappa urges KSRTC staff to call off their strike

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has appealed to the agitating staff of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation's (KSRTC) to call off their ongoing strike, saying that a sincere effort had been made to resolve their problems in a meeting held on Sunday.
As per a statement from the Chief Minister`s Office (CMO), demands of the protestors to rectify salary differences, compensate employees who died of COVID-19, and action against harassment from senior officials were promised to be fulfilled. However, the demand for the consideration of KSRTC staff as government employees was not accepted.
3. Covid-19 vaccination drive may start from Jan 2021

The Serum Institute of India (SII) CEO Adar Poonawalla informed that the COVID-19 vaccination in India is likely to start by January 2021. He further said that his company is expecting to get emergency-use authorisation from the panel by month-end.
The Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII) has collaborated with the British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, and the University of Oxford for making the COVID-19 vaccine- 'Covidshield'. Read more.
4. BJP chief JP Nadda tests COVID-19 positive

BJP President JP Nadda on Sunday said that he has tested positive for coronavirus, and is isolating at home.
Nadda said that after displaying preliminary symptoms, he had got himself tested and the report came out positive. He requested all those who were in contact with him to get themselves tested and take precautions.
5. US COVID vaccine campaign launches with convoy of trucks

The first shipments of COVID-19 vaccine left on trucks and planes early on Sunday, kicking off a historic effort to stop a surging pandemic in the United States.
Mask-wearing workers at a Pfizer Inc factory in Michigan began packing the first shipments of the vaccine developed with German partner BioNTech SE in dry ice shortly after 6:30 am ET (1130 GMT) on Sunday.
