Under PM Modi, young India not apologetic about their Hindu identity: Tejasvi Surya in debut Parliament speech

BJP's dynamic youth leader Tejasvi Surya on Tuesday gave his first speech in Lok Sabha. Speaking to support the motion of thanks for President's speech, Tejasvi Surya spoke passionately about how India has changed in the last five years. According to him, while the constraints and challenges are same, PM Narendra Modi has been the harbinger of change who is the key differentiator between the past era and current regime. 

Surya also applauded Bharatiya Janata Party for giving a 28-year-old ticket. According to Bangalore South MP, the foundation of this democratic ethos is the fact that a chaiwallah has rose to the top and become PM not only once but twice. During his speech, Tejasvi Surya also highlighted the key reforms done by Modi 1.0 government and said that many things are in pipeline in the next five years. 

Tejasvi who replaced deceased Ananth Kumar from Bangalore South  won by a massive mandate and is already been earmarked as the one to watch out for in the future. Even before he got nomination, Tejasvi's passionate videos speaking for BJP or advocating some issue or cause had created ripples among netizens. He enjoys a passionate fan base which is only increasing post his election to the 17th Lok Sabha, 

Tejasvi wrote on Twitter, " My first speech in the Lok Sabha.This is the rise of #NewIndia under PM @narendramodi where a youngster from a middle class family can be the voice of the young in Lok Sabha.Thank you PM Modi & @AmitShah Ji for giving me this opportunity. Thank you Bengaluru South! "

He further wrote, "The most important and irreversible change that India has witnessed under PM Narendra Modi ji is the proud revival of our cultural & civilisational identity. Young Indians today are not apologetic about wearing their Hindu identity up their sleeve."

Dubbing India as a 'culturally repressed country', Tejasvi said that people dodn't wear their Hindu identity in their sleeve but the change has been brought by the Modi govenment. He said that people are no longer apologetic about being Hindu. Citing examples of Kumbh Mela Yoga Day, PM going on meditation in Kedarnath, Tejasvi Surya said that, 'we feel proud that we belong to a Hindu civilisation'

According to him. "People want us to do bolder things and .next five years will witness the rise of the New India"

Tejasvi started the speech thanking Narendra Modi saying, "PM gave me the opportunity to come to this temple of democracy. He recalled stalwarts from the past who sat on this hallowed chambers and decided the polity of the country. Surya said that, "Very fact that 28 year young man coming from middle class family can dream of coming here shows how BJP has transformed electorates". 

Briefly delving into his own journey, Surya said that he was merely a volunteer in 2014 and is now a MP.

Taking a veiled dig at the Gandhi family, Surya said that earlier, "Politics was more of a family businesses and country's political institutions and country's political geography more or less seemed to be in control of few oligarchs." He said, "If a chaiwala has risen to PM, the country's democracy has strengthened."

Focussing on the historic win, young MP said, " Victory historic in many counts, common Indians fought this election for a better tomorrow", He gave example of auto-rickshaw guy to IT professionals and NRI volunteers, all of whom united for a common cause. 

According to Tejasvi, common India felt victory of PM is the victory of new India. He believes that political maturity has increased and this is a much more enlightened society and matured democracy.

Attacking the opposition, Tejasvi Surya said that, "opposition's fake news, lies, and propaganda" have been defeated. He claimed, "Young people don't believe the narrative of Lutyen's Delhi, and social media is giving democratic platform to all".

Recalling about the past, Tejasvi said there was .a sense of frustration was there when other countries much smaller was galloping faster, "If Indians can prosper outside India, why couldn't they so India, hese questions troubled us", said Surya. 

According to him, the.foundation of building new India started where performance is rated over pedigree and people votes on what was delivered and not the surname.

Regarding the economy, Surya said that there has been structural change in country's economy after demonetization and GST. He also said that huge achievement in foreign policy has been recovered and also in ensuring government benefit reach the common man.
