'Will thrash you and your dogs with shoes': BSP's Fatehpur Sikri candidate Guddu Pandit threatens Raj Babbar

Guddu Pandit is facing Congress' Raj Babbar and BJP's Raj Kumar Chaher in Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha constituency.

Taking a political discourse further down, BSP's candidate from Fatehpur Sikri on Monday threatened to thrash Congress opponent and its supporters with shoes. 

Speaking at a rally in Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha constituency, Shree Bhagwan Sharma alias Guddu Pandit said he will beat Raj Babbar and his "dogs" if they spread lies.

In the run-up to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Pandit has been booked over four times on account of model code of conduct violations. Pandit has seven criminal cases filed against him, including extortion.

Guddu Pandit, while referring to Babbar's supporters as "dogs", was heard saying he would boot the Congress leader and his "middlemen" if they spread lies among the public. 

"Sunn lo Raj Babbar ke kutton, tumko aur tumare neta nachaniya ko dauda dauda ke jooton se maarunga jo jhoott faelaya samaaj mein. Jahan milega, Ganga maa ki saugandh tujhe jooton se maarunga, tujhe aur tere dalaalon ko (Listen Raj Babbar's dogs, I will beat you and your leaders with shoes if lies are spread in the society. Wherever I find you, I swear on Ganga I will beat you and your middlemen with shoes," Pandit said at a rally on Monday.

In the run-up to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Pandit has been booked over four times on account of model code of conduct violations, ANI reported. 

 

In a video that went viral last week, Pandit was seen abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Shree Bhagwan Sharma alias Guddu Pandit had won from Bulandshahr district's Debai constituency in the 2007 Assembly elections on a BSP ticket. However, he joined Samajwadi Party (SP) in 2012 and re-contested from the seat.

 

Pandit was later expelled from SP along with his brother Mukesh Sharma for going against his party's whip, following which he joined the BSP again.

 

According to the affidavit filed by Pandit, there are seven criminal cases filed against him, including extortion.

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday campaigned for the party's Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha seat candidate and Uttar Pradesh unit president Raj Babbar. 

 

Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi said asked who was funding the BJP 's campaign for the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. "Everywhere it is the publicity of Narendra Modi. Where is the money coming from? Thirty seconds on TV or newspaper advertisements require lakhs of rupees. Who is giving the money for it? It is not coming from Modi's pocket," he said.

 

In her speech, Priyanka alleged that the BJP had deviated from the path of truth and it seemed that the saffron party neither has faith in democracy nor in the people. The Congress secretary general in-charge for Uttar Pradesh (East) also said the BJP instead of speaking about India and what it had done for its youth was talking about Pakistan.

 

"It seems that the government has faith neither in democracy, its institutions nor the people..had they been real nationalists they would have tread the path of truth. They would have understood that this country is based on truth and those who deviate from it are not let off...you will also not be excused as you, too, have deviated from the path of truth long ago," she said.

Farmers have faced severe losses of potato crop in the last three years in this region with the humble tuber now favoured more for its "political value" rather than for its "calories".

 

As per official data, potatoes are cultivated on 56,000 hectares of land in Agra and Fatehpur Sikri, in 40,000 hectares of land in Hathras and around 20,000 hectares of land in Aligarh district.ANI talked to several farmers in the area who were of the view that BJP might face the heat in this elections due to the farm distress.

 

Both Rahul and Priyanka discussed the problems faced by potato farmers and Raj Babbar even promised a processing unit for potatoes.

6. Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha constituency

Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh. The parliamentary seat is currently held by BJP's Choudhary Babulal, who has been snubbed by his party.  Babulal, an influential Jat leader, had defeated Seema Upadhyay of the BSP by over 1.73 lakh votes in 2014. 

 

In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has fielded Raj Kumar Chaher while sitting MP Choudhary Babulal has been denied ticket by the party leadership. Chaher will face Rajveer Singh of the BSP and Raj Babbar of the Congress. 

 

The polling in Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha constituency will be held in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 18. The results of the Lok Sabha election 2019 will be declared on May 23.

 

Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh are being held from April 11 and will go on till May 19 in all seven phases. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.

"Unke mata-pita ne unko nasihat di hogi, wo un tak nahi pahuchi to Raj Babbar ki kya aukat ki unko kahe? (Whatever his parents taught him, he didn't learn then who is Raj Babbar to say anything to him?" Raj Babbar said in response to Pandit.
