10 injured as Delhi's low-floor bus hits road divider

The incident took place at around 7.30am in Lajpat Nagar when the bus travelling to Bajitpur from Badarpur hit the divider.

At least 10 passengers of a speeding Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) low-floor bus were injured today when the vehicle rammed into a road divider in the national capital after the driver lost control over the wheels, police said.

The incident took place at around 7.30am in Lajpat Nagar when the bus travelling to Bajitpur from Badarpur hit the divider.

Ten people, including a woman, were injured in the incident, police said, adding they were rushed to a hospital.

Police said it appeared that the bus was in full speed when the incident took place. The driver had lost control over the wheels, they said.

The driver and conductor of the bus fled the scene leaving the passengers stranded on the road, police said, adding that efforts are on to nab them.

The low-floor buses were in news recently after a series of fire incidents in the swanky vehicles.
