A verbal duel broke out yesterday when a youth tried to remove a banner of a gram pradhan candidate after the first phase of panchayat polls at Kaserwa village.

At least ten people, including three women, were injured in a clash between two groups at Kaserwa village in the district, police said today.

In yet another incident of election-related violence, a youth was found murdered at Kairana police station area in the district.
 
Satish, 25, was found dead yesterday. His uncle has lodged a complaint against five persons, including Arvind, a candidate who contested in the panchayat polls.
 
The body has been sent for postmortem, police said, adding that they are probing into the incident.
