Each police station in Delhi will have 10 women constables and two women sub-inspectors, Home minister Sushilkumar Shinde said on Friday.
He told the media that he had seen varying reports in newspapers, giving the figure of women to be posted in each police station "as seven, eight, nine".
He said other states would also be encouraged to recruit more women in the police force.
