13 foreigners in Roorkee asked to leave

Thirteen foreign Muslims, who were staying illegally in a mosque at Roorkee area of Uttaranchal have been asked to leave the country, a senior police official said on Wednesday.

DEHRADUN: Thirteen foreign Muslims, who were staying illegally in a mosque at Roorkee area of Uttaranchal have been asked to leave the country, a senior police official said on Wednesday.

Ten Indonesians and three Britons, who had come on a tourist visa to India, had been illegally staying in Roorkee for the past one month without informing authorities here, Garhwal DIG R S Meena said.

However, police found no evidence of any kind of suspicious activity in the mosque where these foreigners were staying, he said.

The foreigners had stayed in Nizamuddin area of New Delhi before coming to Roorkee, he said.
