Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that 1,500 skill-development centres will be set up in the state to impart training to one lakh youth.

Greeting the people of the state on the 44th Haryana Day, Hooda said that the state government was committed to realise its vision of development and welfare as presented to the people in its manifesto during assembly elections.

Hooda said that the state government had decided to launch a State Cooperative Bank's Loan and Interest Waiver Scheme for the landless labourers, rural artisans and petty shopkeepers and to implement a new Youth and Sports Policy in the state according to the needs of the youth.

In the next five years, special emphasis would be laid on promoting diversification in the agriculture sector and to give a fillip to horticulture, so as to increase the income of the farmers.

A new health programme of Rs1,500 crore for developing the health infrastructure will be launched, all hospitals will be modernised and four lakh labourers will be covered under the National Health Insurance Scheme.
