NEW DELHI: More than 17 flights including an international one were cancelled and 31 others diverted in a day of heavy fog at the IGI airport on Wednesday morning due to heavy fog with runway visibility reduced to less than 150 metres.
Airport sources said eight domestic departures and an equal number of arrivals, including an international flight of Sahara Airways (Delhi-Singapore) had to be cancelled due to poor visibility.
Another six international flights were diverted alongwith 25 domestic flights as dense fog descended on the airport and made landing difficult.
Eight other international flights were also rescheduled due to adverse weather conditions, sources said.
However by 9am, departure of 13 international flights and four domestic ones had taken place, sources added.
