Two foreign nationals, one from Mongolia and another from the USA, were allegedly molested in the national capital during the last 24 hours, police said.
In the first incident, a 24-year-old woman from Mongolia was allegedly molested by a custom official here this evening in Central Delhi's IP Estate area.
According to the police, the incident took place between 5 to 6 PM, when the victim, who studies at a Delhi University (DU) college, had gone to check the status of a parcel she had sent home-country a few days ago.
The woman told police that when she met the official to inquire about her parcel, he caught her hand and tried to molest her. Scared by this sudden advance, she fled the spot.
Later, she approached the police and registered a complaint.
A senior police official said that an FIR is being registered and they will arrest the accused after booking him in relevant sections of law.
In the second indent that took place yesterday, a 45-year-old American woman accused a taxi driver of molesting her in his vehicle and threatening her for her life when she resisted.
The accused, identified as Vikram Basoya has been arrested. He had also been sent to judicial custody, police said.
The victim, who is an advocate by profession and had been staying in a rented house at Defence Colony told police that she was acquainted with the accused who lives in south Delhi's Kotla Mubarakpur.
On the basis of her statement, a case of sexual assault and criminal intimidation under Indian Penal Code has been filed and the accused arrested, said a police official.
