Reports of more H1N1 positive cases in the state had been flowing in almost every day for a long time now. But Wednesday proved lucky for the citizens and the state government.

Although 22 new suspected cases were reported on the day, none tested positive for swine flu. An official of the state health and family welfare department said, “Twenty two patients are admitted in hospitals in their respective cities, which includes some of the private hospitals.”

Of the 22 suspected cases admitted for treatment, 8 are from Ahmedabad, 5 from Rajkot, 5 in Vadodara, one in Surat and three from Bhavnagar. Seven deaths were reported in the state, and so far, there has been no increase in the toll, added the source.

Till date, a total of 663 suspected H1N1 cases are recorded, of which about 555 were tested negative. The government said that of the remaining 105 H1N1 positive cases, 88 have been treated and discharged.
