DHANBAD: Rescuers on Friday pulled out 31 of the 43 bodies of the miners inside the Bhatdhi mine in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district, a senior official said.
"Rescue teams have located 43 bodies from the Bhatdih mines on Thursday night, of which 31 have been pulled out so far," Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Bela Rajesh said over the telephone.
She said operations were on to recover the other bodies.
The deaths were caused due to inhalation of carbon monoxide following an explosion underground in the mine on Wednesday night when 50 miners were inside.
Senior officials of BCCL apprehended the worst for the remaining miners.
