On the last day of the Goddess Umiya Mata Rajat Jayanti Festival at Unjha, as many as 57 lakh devotees visited from across the state and world. The day's ceremony was validated by former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel.
Organisers said that on the last day, the temple trust received a total of Rs33 crore as donation from various modes.
"We have received more then 19,600 silver coins, Rs5 crore as Hundi and more than Rs1 crore cash," said one of the organisers.
Dr Amrut Patel, coordinator of the Blood donation camp at the festival informed that around 12,000 devotees donated blood in the past five days. In fact, more than 1,000 people made resolution to donate blood in future as well. Thirty nine blood banks took part in the festival to collect blood.
Nareshbhai, coordinator of tree sapling distribution stall at the festival, said that in the past five days more than five lakh saplings of different varieties were distributed.
Chairman of Agriculture Exhibition said that more than 1 lakh farmers who had visited the festival and set up stall have filled up resolution letter for using drip irrigation methods in their farms. Moreover, more than 7.5 lakh letters were issued with invitations. "We will handover this data to the state government who will then pass it on to Talatis, Gram Sevaks and the Gujarat Green Revolution company for better promotion of the drip irrigation method.
