Four days after the honour killing of a Dalit man in Miryalaguda town of Nalgonda district in Telangana, six people have been arrested. The man who actually committed the murder is from Bihar's Samasthipur.

On September 14, Perumalla Pranay Kumar, a Dalit, was hacked to death in front of his pregnant wife Amrutha Varshini, belonging to the Vyshya community and his mother Premalatha as they were coming out of a clinic where they had gone for Amrutha's pre-natal check-up.

Along with the prime suspect, Amrutha's father T Maruthi Rao, police arrested six others.

The coconspirators were Asghar Ali and Mohammedd Bari and Subash Sharma, who hacked Pranay Kumar to death with a machete.

Nalgonda Superintendent of Police AV Ranganath said Maruthi Rao held a grudge against Pranay Kumar and had been planning to kill him as he belonged to the Scheduled Caste. His resolve got stronger when he learnt that Amrutha was pregnant.

Maruthi Rao, through his friend Abdul Karim, contacted Ali and Bari, promised them Rs 1 crore and gave an advance of Rs 15 lakh

Other two accused include T Sravan and Shiva Goud, Maruthi Rao's brother and driver respectively.
