LUCKNOW: As many as 68 suspected cases of dengue have been reported from across the state during the past one month, Health Department officials said on Wednesday.
Suspected cases of dengue have been reported from Lucknow, Agra, Ambedkar Nagar, Hardoi and Saharanpur districts, they said adding that steps have been initiated to bring the situation under control.
Two people have died of dengue in the state till date.
Medicines have been provided at all the primary and community health centres. Control rooms were also being set up at district government hospitals.
Several people were undergoing treatment for the disease at private and government hospitals, the officials said.
Alarmed by the increase in dengue cases, the Health Directorate has asked all Chief Medical Officers to undertake fogging and sprinkling of insecticides.
Health Department officials have been asked to collect information about dengue patients in different parts of the state and take prompt action to control the situation.
People are being apprised with various precautions needed to be taken to check the disease, the officials said.
