A 24-hour police helpline for Srinagar residents launched

Jammu and Kashmir Police today launched a 24-hour helpline for the residents of Srinagar for redressal of their problems and grievances and to check social crimes in the city.

In order to redress the problems of the general public and check social crimes like drug peddling, eve-teasing and burglaries in the city, Senior Superintendent of Police( SSP) Srinagar Amit Kumar, today launched a grievance cell at district police lines here that will be accessible to the public round the clock, a police spokesman said.

He said a dedicated team of officers have been placed in the cell for prompt response to the public grievances. The measure will bring in transparency and accountability in the functioning of the district police, he said.

The spokesman said general public is requested to register their problems and grievances on the helpline numbers 0194-2477567, 9596222550, 9596222551.
