AAP MLA Imran Hussain will take oath on Tuesday as a Cabinet minister in the Arvind Kejriwal government to fill the spot left vacant by the sacking of Matia Mahal legislator Asim Ahmed Khan over corruption charges.
Hussain, a first-time legislator from Ballimaran, will be administrated the oath of office by Lt Governor Najeeb Jung at Rajniwas in the national capital.
On October 9, Kejriwal summarily sacked Environment and Food Minister Khan for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 6 lakh from a builder and recommended a CBI probe into the case.
Hussain (34), who did his Bachelors in Business Studies from Jamia Millia Islamia, defeated BJP's Shayam Lal Morwal by a margin 33,877 votes in the last Assembly elections. Incidentally, both Khan and Hussain had joined AAP before the Lok Sabha polls. Husain is one of the three Muslim AAP MLAs in the Delhi Assembly.
