Advocates stayed away from court work across Uttarakhand, including at the High Court in Nainital.

Advocates Thursday stayed away from court work across Uttarakhand, including at the High Court in Nainital, in response to a call by the state bar council to protest against the terrorist attack at the Delhi High Court.

The advocates gathered at the premises of the state High Court and condoled the death of 11 people in the bomb blast  that ripped through the reception counter of the Delhi High Court, said Mahendra Singh Pal, President of Uttarakhand Bar Council.

Demanding those responsible for the terror attack be brought to justice, the advocates also asked the state government to beef up security and maintain a strict vigil in all the state courts.

"No work was done in any of the courts of the state from  High Court to the lower courts," Pal claimed.

In the state capital Dehra Dun, the court  premises were seen wearing the deserted look. Similar reports were received from other parts of the state also.
