After Obama's exit from White House, Narendra Modi to become 'Most Followed Leader of State'

Modi is only second in most followed rankings for state leaders on social media after Obama.

Today at approximately 10:30 p.m. Indian Standard Time/ 12 Noon Eastern Standard Time in the United States as Barack Obama leaves office and Donald Trump becomes the US President, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will become the most followed leader of state in the world.

Prime Minister Modi has the highest number of followers among all leaders of state on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Google+ after Barack Obama. He has been using technology and modern tools of communication to reach out and stay connected to citizens, especially the youth.

He also promotes several schemes using his official social media profile, with the recent ones being the promotion of digital banking.
