Monsoon it seems is in no hurry to re-visit the city after making an appearance some days ago as Ahmedabad largely remained hot and dry with temperatures touching 42 degree Celsius on Saturday.
Ahmedabad remained the third hottest spot in the state on Saturday, after Deesa (46.1 degree Celsius) and Idar (43.9 degree Celsius). Temperatures at Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhuj, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar also crossed the 41 degree Celsius mark. But some parts of south Gujarat registered light rainfall at isolated places.
Of the total rainfall Chhota Udepur received 4 cms, Nanipalsan, Limkheda (3 cms each), Dhansura, Tilakwada, Ukai (2cms each), Bhavnagar (3cms), and Palitana recorded 2 cms of rainfall. Indian Meteorological Department, (IMD) Gujarat has forecast 65% humidity.
It said that the continuation of southwesterly winds indicates that thundershowers are expected to occur in the city within the next two days. IMD forecast for the state said that light to moderate rain will occur at few places in all districts of South Gujarat region, Saurashtra, Diu, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli and at isolated places in all districts of North Gujarat region. Weather will mainly remain sunny in Kutch district.
