Naranpura police on Thursday arrested Pranav Jain accused of labelling on-duty cops as kidnappers.

Mayurdan Gadhvi and Babu Desai, constables with Law Garden Police Chowki, on Thursday were directed by their PSI PD Saktaparia to clear a pending application against Pranav Jain and his brother Mehul Jain who live in Shantinagar, Usmanpura. The brothers were involved in a cheating case a few months back.

On reaching the Jains' residence, Gadhvi and Desai found that Mehul was not at home and asked Pranav to cooperate with them.

Pranav tried to avoid any conversation with the on-duty constables and started yelling outside his residence. To gain support of onlookers, he allegedly removed his shirt and told the crowd that both the constables were trying to kidnap him in their car. Pranav and his supporters even vandalised the cops' vehicle.

Sensing trouble, the constables immediately informed Naranpura police and lodged a complaint against Pranav and his supporters. Following the complaint, Naranpura police arrested Pranav and Vishal Bhojak for misbehaving with an on-duty public servant.
