Reference to a Muslim-populated area as Pakistan is not uncommon in Ahmedabad where small roads are termed as 'Wagah border' and Hindu populated areas are called 'India'.

In a bizzare incident, an FIR filed by Rakhial police against four individuals who were involved in a brawl has mentioned they are residents of 'Vatva, Pakistan'.

Reference to a Muslim-populated area as Pakistan is not uncommon in Ahmedabad where small roads are termed as 'Wagah border' and Hindu populated areas are called 'India'.

Rakhial police inspector Barkat Ali Chavda said, "The writer wrote Pakistan as the address in FIR because it was dictated to us by the city control room. This is quite normal here. Those who live there also identify themselves as residents of Pakistan".

The situation is very similar to that of Nallasopara in Thane where a bunch of Muslim families reported that they have been getting electricity bills which mentions their address as 'Chota' or 'Little Pakistan', a leading daily reported.

In the same manner, the largest Muslim ghetto at Juhapura in Ahmedabad is usually called 'Mini Pakistan' that shares a 'Wagah border' with Vejalpur which is a Hindu dominated area.
