The airport authorities launched the much-awaited wi-fi service at the terminal on Wednesday.

The airport officials said that the internet access is extended to all passengers and visitors at the domestic terminal (T1) through wi-fi.

Passengers and visitors can now access the Internet directly on their laptop and mobile phones without any charges to start with.

Airport director Anuj Aggarwal said that a number of passengers in their feedback forms had requested for several facilities including the wi-fi system.

Passengers along with visitors can now use the facility without any password.

On the security issue, however, the airport director maintained that in the coming days, a system will be put in place to monitor activities of the users.

"Since the service has just started, there may be a couple of changes based on the feedback we receive from the subscribers," Aggrawal said.

Officials at the airport said that the service will also start at the international terminal in the near future.
