Ahmedabad university's annual cultural festivals put students’ talents to test

Nirma’s festivals - Richter 2011 and academic festival Perspective 2011 - ended on a successful note on Saturday

Institute of Management, Nirma University's (IMNU) three-day long annual cultural festivals - Richter 2011 and academic festival Perspective 2011 - ended onm a successful, note on Saturday. The twin festivals attracted participants from all over the country including prominent institutions like IIM-A, IIM-B, MICA, NITIE, NMIMS, KJ Somaiya and many more.

The cultural festival, Richter was aimed at testing students' talents with the help of events like Shutter Bucks - the photography competition, Scavenger Hunt, Antakshri and Guerrar - the LAN gaming competition which had participants battling it out on the popular game of Counter Strike.

On the other hand, Perspective provided students with a platform to come up with their own business plans and case studies with the help of events like Bizzart - the IMC case study competition, Bouleterion - the mock Cancun summit, Make The Cut - the movie promotion event, Prayaas - the social marketing event, Quizmos - business quiz and Srijan - the B-plan competition and Bellatus Ultimus - the managerial competition.

The events in the day were followed up by equally entertaining evenings, with the Rock Night on February 11, DJ Night on February 12 and a hasya kavi sammelan on the last day, which witnessed one of the most popular poets Dr Kumar Vishvas of the '

Ek Koi Deewana Kehta Hai...' fame, reciting poems which had both students and faculty members in splits.
However, the star of the evening was surely Dr Surendra Sharma, who with his years of experience and his antique style of poetry stole the show by taking a dig at society in a satirical way.
