Pathak quit after the SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav released a new list of party Spokespersons and TV panelists in which her name was dropped along with Dr Abhishek Mishra, Anil Yadav and Avinash Kushwaha.

The Samajwadi Party National Spokesperson Pankhuri Pathak has resigned and accused Akhilesh Yadav of compromising the party’s ideology and playing partisan role.

Pathak quit after the SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav released a new list of party Spokespersons and TV panelists in which her name was dropped along with Dr Abhishek Mishra, Anil Yadav and Avinash Kushwaha.

“I was feeling suffocated in Samajwadi Party. Within the party, I was targeted for my religion and gender, but the party Chief never initiated any action. It shows that he (Akhilesh Yadav) has accepted this new low in Samajwadi Party,” she said.

“It was difficult for me to compromise with my self-respect and dignity to survive in the party which has left its ideology. There is no place for internal democracy, honest and hard-working leaders in Samajwadi Party. They were continuously ignored at the cost of those close to leadership,” alleged Pathak.

Pathak had resigned earlier also but had withdrawn it on the directions of Yadav. Once a close confidante of Yadav, Pathak’s relations with SP Chief soured following her controversial tweets and allegations of she siding, with Yadav’s rebel uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav.
