Akhilesh Yadav to build Heritage Hotel in Lucknow

From politician to hotelier! Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has now decided to open a Heritage Hotel in Lucknow along with his wife Dimple Yadav.

Yadav has submitted a blue-print of the hotel, named as Hibiscus Heritage, to the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) for the clearance of its map and other approvals. The heritage hotel would be constructed on a piece of over 23,000 sq feet land on 1-A Vikramaditya Marg.

The land was precious commercial land was bought by Yadav along with his wife Dimple Yadav for a paltry Rs 39 lakh in 2005. Currently, the estimated cost of the land runs into several crores.

After suggesting some correction in the map, the LDA has sent the file for approval to the Chief Town Planner. Yadav will have to seek as many as over a dozen permissions / NOCs from the ASI, Fire department, Lucknow Nagar Nigam, Lucknow Jal Sansthan etc before he could materialize his dream to become a hotelier along with his better half.

The double-story Hibiscus Heritage Hotel has been designed by an architect close to Akhilesh Yadav. The architect had bagged several projects during erstwhile Yadav regime between 2012 and 2017.

Earlier, Yadav had planned to construct his own house on the land. But he dropped the idea after buying two luxurious Villas in Sushant Lok Golf City, developed by API Ansals. The ideas to construct hotel on the commercial plot is learnt to have been given by his builder friend Sanjay Seth, a Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha member.

Yadav owns another commercial property near to this plot on Raj Bhawan Road where the building is rented out to a prominent private bank.

The proposed Hotel is located near 5, Kalidas Marg, official residence of UP Chief Minister, and is on the same posh area where Akhilesh Yadav used to live in 4- Vikramaditya Marg till June 2 when he was asked to vacate his palatial residence, allotted to him as former Chief Minister, amid controversy of vanadalising the property.
