This is one super-homemaker all households will adore. Setting example for other citizens, this alert housewife who lives near SP ringroad, set up a trap with the help of her neighbours, caught a thief who must be cursing his ill-luck for breaking into her house on Sunday night.
Meet Kavita, wife of Anurag Mehta, resident of Harihar Ashray Bungalow -2, near Shilaj railway crossing on SP ringroad. While the family was sound asleep on Sunday night, Kavita woke up at around 2am after she heard some unfamiliar noise. Soon the woman realized that someone entered her house by opening the handle of the main door. After listening carefully, Kavita realized that the thieves numbered more than two and were searching around for valuables.
However, though fully awake and alert, Kavita did not panic nor alerted her family for she feared they may be armed and can attack her if she confronts them unarmed and unprepared. The detective in her took control of the situation and with a stoical demeanour that is bound to make most courageous among us go red in the face, Kavita chose a smarter way to tackle the emergency.
With uncommon alacrity, she dialed phone numbers of her neighbours and asked them to cordon her house from outside. While the neighbours took their positions, Kavita along with her husband shouted for help signaling their neighbours, it’s action time! “To save themselves, three thieves ran towards the main gate of the bungalow, but only to land in the trap set up the valiant neighbours. However, two of the members of the gang proved to be more nimble than expected and managed to escape,” said NR Dave, police sub inspector of Sola.
However, it was the end of the tunnel for ‘Raju’ ban gaya chor, aka Babu Mina, 32, a native of Banswada in Rajasthan. The absconding members were identified as Surya Mina and Ranjit Mina, both residents of Dungarpur in Rajasthan.
