Alert sounded across states in the country

The district police chiefs have been asked to maintain a special vigil at important places including markets, railway and bus stations and undertake intensive checking at all places.

In the wake of a terror strike in Pune which killed eight persons and left 32 injured this evening, an alert has been sounded in Uttar Pradesh with security and vigil around important installations tightened across the state.

"Following information regarding a terror blast at a popular bakery in Pune this evening, an alert has been sounded across the state," additional director general of police (law and order) Brij Lal said.

He said that all the district police chiefs have been asked to maintain a special vigil at important places including markets, railway and bus stations and undertake intensive checking at all places.

Security tightened in Rajasthan
Security across Rajasthan was stepped up tonight following a terror blast at Pune this evening which killed eight persons and left 32 injured.    All the places including railway stations, bus stands,
hotels, inns are being chekced throughly in all the districts including the state capital Jaipur, State home minister Shanti Dhariwal said.

After the blast in Pune, we instructed all the range IGs and senior officials to keep a stricter vigil, the minister said. This is very sad that Pune today witnessed the terror attack, Dhariwal said.

Additional police personnel in plain clothes have been deployed in the city to keep a strict vigil, Jaipur IG BL Soni said. To ensure tourists' security armed policemen will keep a watch on all the tourist spots in the city, Soni added.
