"The state is plagued with communal disharmony and allowing yatra at this time by Advani will fuel communal disturbance," AISSF President Karnail Singh Peermohammad said.

AISSF Kashmir unit chief Manjeet Singh Sodhi and Jammu unit head Bhai Dalip Singh, in a joint statement, said they would approach Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and demand a "ban on Advani’s yatra."

The yatra would bring back "dark memories" of the demolition of Babri Masjid, said Sodhi and Dalip Singh. The organisation also announced it would stage protests during the yatra across the state. The AISSF has already declared it will not allow the yatra in Punjab.
