Three Amarnath pilgrims including a CRPF jawan died of cardiac arrest in south Kashmir Himalayas, raising the death toll in the ongoing yatra to 27, official said today.

Constable Inderjeet Singh, posted with 28th Battalion CRPF, died of a heart attack while returning from the 3,880m high holy cave in south Kashmir Himalayas this afternoon, officials said.
Singh, whose battalion is located in Srinagar, had taken leave for paying obeisance at the cave shrine, they said, adding his body was being brought to the base camp Baltal, to further send to his home town in Uttar Pradesh.
Arun Chawla, 54, a resident of Gujarat, also died of cardiac arrest at Sangam top along Baltal-cave route last evening.
Another yatri died of heart attack along Baltal-cave route and efforts are on to establish his identity, the officials said.
The 46-day Amarnath yatra commenced from both Baltal and Pahalgam routes on June 29 and so far over 1.70 lakh pilgrims have had 'darshan' of the naturally formed ice-shivlingam at the cave shrine.
With the death of these three pilgrims today, the number of deaths caused due to natural reasons during the ongoing yatra has risen to 27 including, a Muslim porter.
