Ambaji town gets Rs500 crore government offering

The Gujarat government has planned to invest Rs500 crore for strengthening the old and creation of new infrastructure in Ambaji, a popular pilgrimage of the state.

The government has proposed to construct a rejuvenation centre, nursing college and a hospital to provide latest, effective and instant medical services to all the tourists, pilgrims and also to the locals residing in the surrounding areas.

"State government will invest around Rs500 crore in Ambaji in the next 3-4 years to create infrastructure to support the large influx of devotees during the festivals," said Jay Narayan Vyas, minister of health and tourism, speaking on the sidelines of a seminar organised by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) on tourism.

Parikrama Marg, the path which circles Gabbar Hill will have width of 15 feet and 2.5 km in length. This path will also have facilities such as seating arrangements, snacks counter, drinking water facilities, hanging swings, bridge and developing view points overlooking beautiful landscapes. Also, 51 temples of 51 Shaktipeeths with details about their locations and significance will be installed.
