Ambika Soni elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Punjab

Congress nominee Soni and and Shiromani Akali Dal general secretary Balwinder Singh Bunder were declared elected unopposed today.

Union minister Ambika Soni was today elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Punjab. 

Congress nominee Soni and and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) general secretary Balwinder Singh Bhunder were declared elected unopposed after the deadline for withdrawal of nominations for the two seats ended this evening, Punjab Vidhan Sabha secretary and returning officer Ved Parkash said here.

While information and broadcasting minister Soni has been renominated by the Congress, Bhunder has replaced Raj Mohinder Singh of SAD.
