The building of Amravati is seen as an initiative to be undertaken by all the people of Andhra, according to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. On Thursday, he launched the ‘My Brick – My Amaravati’ scheme where people across the globe could donate money for building Amravati by buying e-bricks. The e-bricks are priced at Rs 10 each.

A report in The Hindu states that the response has been tremendous since the scheme was launched. The employees of CRDA donated a day’s salary and purchased bricks worth Rs 5.22 lakh i.e. 52200 e-bricks.

People across India bought e-bricks and by 10 pm on Thursday night more than 2200 people had bought 23,1868 bricks. The names of all the people buying bricks would be maintained in an online database and certificates digitally signed by CM Chandrababu Naidu would be sent to them said officials. 

E-bricks to build Amravati can be bought using credit or debit cards on www.amaravati.gov.in. There is no restriction on how many bricks an individual can buy.
