Anil Ambani to start Clean India initiative at Kamakhya temple in Guwahati

Industrialist Anil Ambani on Saturday visited the Kamakhya temple and pledged to soon start a programme under Prime Minister's Swachh Bharat campaign at the famous shrine.

Accompanied by his wife Tina, Ambani performed 'parikrama' at the temple. Temple priests performed Chandi Puja and the family also offered Kanya puja.

While talking to temple 'pujaris', Ambani said that under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat initiative, he would soon start a programme for the Kamakhya Temple premises.

The Temple Board requested him to help the temple in some way after which Anil Ambani offered to take care of the cleanliness at the temple under the Swachh Bharat programme, Ambani's aides said. Temple board will present a detailed proposal to him for the same, which will be implemented by Ambani.

While launching the Clean India campaign last year, Modi had nominated Anil Ambani along with eight others to spread awareness on the issue. Anil Ambani also met Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
