Billionaire Anil Ambani today made a surprise visit to the Supreme Court where his group firm RNRL is fighting a bitter battle with elder brother Mukesh Ambani-led RIL for supply of gas.
"My presence in the Supreme Court today reflects my deepest regard and respect for our judiciary.
"I have come here today not just on my own behalf but on behalf of the nearly 11 million shareholders of the Reliance ADA Group -- the largest shareholding family in the world -- whose interests will be directly affected by the outcome of this case," he said in a statement.
RNRL is seeking gas from RIL at rates lower than government-approved price as per a private family agreement that split the Dhirubhai Ambani empire.
