Lending support to anti- corruption crusader Anna Hazare, associations of auto-rickshaw drivers, truckers and magicians have joined the protest. Around 400 auto drivers from city took out a rally from Sabarmati while truck drivers association participated in a rally from different pockets of the city which finally culminated at the Town Hall.
On Saturday, citizens from Bhudharpura, Narol, Shahpur took out a rally towards Tagore Hall and staged anti-corruption protests.
Sanjay Joshi of Jan Lokpal Andolan Samiti said that they have changed the strategy to gather people near the VS Hospital as Amdavad's 'Anna', Chandrakant Barot, an activist who has been fasting with Hazare, is recuperating in the hospital's ICU. He said that around 15 magicians showed tricks with corruption as the theme.
"Tomorrow we plan to take out a rally from Kankaria Football ground and Prahaladnagar Garden simultaneously at 10 am. The rally will cover majority of the eastern and western part of Ahmedabad," said Joshi.
Manish Brahmbhatt of Yuva Azad said that they continued with Prabhat Feri on Saturday as well. There was also a road show to support Anna. "On Sunday, we have organised a maha rally where people across Gujarat who support Anna will participate in the rally. We expect around 10,000 people to participate," he said.
Meanwhile, Barot who is on a fast along with Anna, will also end his fast when Anna ends it in Delhi. Meanwhile supporters burst crackers in the city late in the night after Anna disclosed he will break his fast in the national capital on Sunday.
