Hazare had embarked on his vow of silence on October 17, citing health reasons.

Veteran Gandhian Anna Hazare is likely to withdraw his ongoing vow of silence (maun vrat) within the next three to four days, according to the posting on his blog on Monday.

Hazare had embarked on his vow of silence on October 17, citing health reasons. Three days ago he extended it, citing the same reasons. However in this latest post, Hazare cited the tremendous response to his blog as the reason for him to release his vow.

“Crores of people are reading my blog all over the world. Hence, I think it would only seem appropriate that I end my maun vrat and hold open discussions with them,’’ he stated on his blog.

Hazare announced he would embark on a nationwide tour to meet people who had been part of his movement. He stated that he has felt an “inner urge” to meet and talk to all these people “who bravely faced hazards’’.

Hazare also announced that he would engineer another movement calling for the introduction of electoral reforms and the right to recall and right to reject a candidate.
