On Sunday, T Raja Singh, a BJP MLA from Goshamahal in Hyderabad caused controversy after saying that those who didn’t daily meeting at RSS shakhas ‘aren’t true Hindus’.

The MLA from Hyderabad, who has a history of making incendiary statements said that the RSS is a factory that produces icons like PM Modi and Yogi Adityanath made the comments in Madhya Pradesh, which is set to go for elections this year.

According to a report in the Times of India, he told a large crowd gathered in MP’s Neemuch district during a rally: “I request all of you to enrol yourself in nearest branch of RSS. Any Hindu who doesn't join RSS isn't a true Hindu and is thus incapable of serving our nation.”

The BJP lawmaker further said that everyone living in India ought to chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram, irrespective of religion or else they should leave the country. He went on to add that no country would tolerate people hailing an enemy country or terrorists.

He said: “No other country will tolerate anyone chanting 'Bharat Mata ki jai' but we have people in our country who say 'Pakistan zindabad' and hail terrorists like Afzal Guru."

Afzal Guru was hanged in 2013 after being convicted in the 2001 Indian parliament attack. He asked Hindus to work for the betterment of their ‘religion and to fight evils like love jihad and paid conversions’.

He said: “If Hindus want to do something for society, they must create awareness against love jihad and paid conversions of tribal people.”

T Raja has attacked the Owaisis in the past and has a history of making such statements. He once said: “Muslims are becoming anti-nationals because of the Owaisis. They should understand that these brothers are playing dirty politics and will continue to do so. People must not fall into their trap.”

Earlier, T Raja Singh had also threatened to set on fire, theatres that screened Padmavaat.
