In recognition of the contribution of Apollo Hospitals towards healthcare in the country, Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister MK Stalin and Union communication minister A.Raja today released the Apollo postage stamp here.

Speaking on the occasion, Stalin said "The uniqueness of Apollo Hospitals is that it has good doctors, better equipment and offered world class treatment."

Stating that Apollo Hospitals is contributing its best to health services especially to the people of Tamil Nadu, he said that the state government had allocated Rs 3,391 crore to the health sector during 2009-10, as compared to Rs1,612 crore during 2005-2006 by the previous government.

Raja said Apollo Hospitals is the first health unit in the country to get the recognition from the postal department.
