All Parties Sikh Co-ordination Committee (APSCC) chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina on Tuesday appealed to President Pratibha Patil to grant clemency to Balwant Singh Rajoana, who is scheduled to be hanged on March 31.
"India being the largest democracy of the world should show restrain in the decision of hanging of Rajoana," a press release, quoting Raina, said.
"We condemn this hanging, as this has more of political motive rather than a legal aspect to it. It is all politically motivated and political party-based politics which is bent upon to divide the people on the basis of religion, caste, colour and creed," Raina said.
