A young man was killed and two others injured after a stampede broke out during an army recruitment drive at a stadium in Agra on Saturday.
Dharam Veer, 18, a resident of Jaitpur Tappal in Aligarh district, was trampled to death in the stampede that occurred after a barricade gave way due to the pressure of a large number of aspirants who had turned up at Agra Sports Stadium, police said.
"The deceased youth's family has been informed about the incident and the body has been sent for post-mortem," they said, adding that the injured were being treated at the Army hospital.
The army has not issued any statement so far on the incident.
