Goswami reportedly got threats because of comments on his show.

Television journalist Arnab Goswami is set to be provided Y-category security by the government after he received threats from ‘Pakistan-based terror groups’. The editor-in-chief of Times Now will get round-the-clock protection from 20 guards including two personal security officers, reported Hindustan Times.

A home ministry official told HT:  “Goswami is being given security on the basis of a threat-perception analysis by the IB. We will go by the IB recommendation. He faces threats from Pakistan-based terrorist groups due to his comments against them on Times Now.”

The Maharashtra police is likely to handle his security since he’s based in Mumbai. Goswami isn’t the only journalist to be provided security cover from the centre. Journalists like Sudhir Chaudhary, Umesh Kumar and Ashwini Chopra also are provided with security.
