Arunachal Pradesh: 17 Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan employees suspended

The Deputy Commissioner has directed Kurung Kumey district Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE) to carry out an inquiry against all the suspended officials individually.

The Arunachal Pradesh government has suspended 17 employees working under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for remaining absent from their duty for an excessively long period. Taking action against the absentees, 17 teaching and non-teaching staff under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) posted in various educational institutions of Damin and Parsi-Parlo administrative circles under Kurung Kumey district, Deputy Commissioner Kangki Darang, also the district SSA project director, suspended them recently, an official release said in Itanagar on Monday.

The suspended officials were found absent from their place of posting since a long time, it said. Some of them were reported to have not joined their duties since the beginning of the current academic session, thereby affecting the smooth functioning of the schools located in remote outposts.

The DC has directed Kurung Kumey district Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE) to carry out an inquiry against all the suspended officials individually and submit report before December 20 for further necessary action. Darang became the first DC to reach Ruba, the last village on the Indian side at the Indo-China border in Kurung-Kumey sector after trekking for several days and also the first Deputy Commissioner to reach Damin on foot. He visited various government establishments and institutions during his week-long tour recently, the release said.
