As Atal Bihari Vajpayee continues to remain critical, Ajmer Sharif devotees pray for his good health

The Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan is organisaing a special darshan for former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who is currently critical at AIIMS in New Delhi.

According to reports, the darshan will take place in the same hall where Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hassan Chishti hall is buried. The devotees are praying for Vajapayee’s good health.

Meanwhile, prayers were underway in various parts of India including his constituency Lucknow.

After Independence, whoever has been the prime minister of the country has sent a 'chaadar'. Vajpayee, too, during his tenure would send a chadar, and continued to do so even after he stopped appearing in public.

The 93-year-old Bharatiya Janata Party leader was admitted at the premier All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on June 11 with a kidney tract infection, urinary tract infection, low urine output and chest congestion.

"Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's condition continues to remain the same. He is critical and on life support systems, said AIIMS in a statement.

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the AIIMS on Wednesday evening to enquire about the condition of Vajpayee. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi, Suresh Prabhu, Jitendra Singh, Harsh Vardhan and Shahnawaz Hussain were among several leaders who visited the hospital.

On Thursday morning, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, BJP chief Amit Shah, LK Advani, Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh visited him.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Congress President Rahul Gandhi will visit AIIMS, whereas West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will travel to Delhi later today.
