Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot today launched a special awareness campaign against child labour and imparting education to them.
Gehlot flagged off a rally of around 300 students studying in various school of slums around the city, and signed a banner with message to stop child labour at his residence, and said that the campaign would help in spreading awareness in the society.
"We will have to work in spirit that no child remains deprived of education. Right to Education act has been implemented in the country and the state as well, and now we will have to ensure that its benefits reach to the children engaged in child labour," Gehlot said on the occasion.
State chief of UNICEF, Samuel Mawunganidze, who was present on the occasion, said that every child is born to be alive and to be in school, and has right to get every support from the parents and the government.
