Assembly Election Results 2023: BJP wins in MP, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh; Congress wrests Telangana from KCR

The assembly elections in five states — Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Telangana — were held between November 7 and November 30.

The Assembly Election Results 2023 for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Chhattisgarh were released today with the counting of votes began at 8 am. The assembly elections in five states — Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Telangana — were held between November 7 and November 30.

The results of the Mizoram Assembly Election will be declared on Monday (December 4). In a single phase, 199 of the 200 state assembly seats in Rajasthan were up for election. Following the elections, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot declared his readiness to win a second term in office and voiced his confidence in the party. 

BJP won a 'historic' mandate in the Hindi heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. While Congress won 64 Assembly seats to form government in the BRS-dominated Telangana. BRS has been ruling the state since 2014 when Telangana was carved out of Andhra Pradesh.

BJP ousted Congress from power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and retained Madhya Pradesh. Party chief Mallikarjun Kharge said that the party will overcome "temporary setbacks" and prepare fully for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections along with the INDIA parties.

Congress candidate from Jubilee Hills, Mohammad Azharuddin trailing by a margin of 1648 votes after the 10th round of counting, garnering a total of 25,923 votes so far.

BJP continues to lead in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh; Congress ahead in Telangana, as per EC trends.

- JP candidate from Indore 1, Kailash Vijayvargiya leading by a margin of 25,921 votes after the sixth round of counting, garnering a total of 51,896 votes so far.

BJP crosses halfway mark in Chhattisgarh, Congress gets 38 seats

BJP has crossed the halfway mark in Chhattisgarh; leads on 50 seats as official ECI trends. While Congress secured 38 seats.

The counting of votes for the Assembly Election Results 2023 for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Chhattisgarh has begun with the counting of postal.
