At least 4 dead after massive fire breaks out at ONGC plant in Navi Mumbai's Uran

The fire broke out at around 7:20 am on Tuesday morning.

At least four people have been killed and eight others injured in a major fire that broke out at an ONGC gas processing plant at Navi Mumbai's Uran on Tuesday. The fire has been doused now, ONGC informed in a tweet. 

"The fire was successfully doused within two hours by fire fighting team. ONGC's robust crisis mitigation preparedness helped put off this major fire in a very short time," ONGC said. 

The fire erupted in the storm-water drainage early morning on Tuesday. Due to security reasons, the region within 1 km range from the plant has been sealed.

Meanwhile, the injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital. The cause for the fire which broke out at around 7:20 am is not known yet.

The crisis management team was also present at the spot. So far there is no impact on oil processing. Meanwhile, the gas is being diverted to Hazira Plant.
