Ahead of the Babri mosque demolition anniversary tomorrow, police has stepped up security across Tamil Nadu, senior officials said.

"There is no specific alert. There is only a general alert and we have stepped up security all over the state," they said.
  
Increased patrolling and intensified checking in lodges are part of the vigil, while presence of security personnel in places like airports, railway stations and bus stands has been strengthened, they said, adding vital installations have been given enhanced security cover.
   
The state police was coordinating with the railways on the security, they added.
