Taking swift action in the Ballabhgarh shooting case, the Haryana Government has ordered an SIT probe.
Meanwhile, the Faridabad Police has arrested Rehan, the second accused in the case. Rehan was arrested from Mewat after 10 police teams were pressed into action. The prime accused Tausif is in custody.
The incident has shaken the entire country with protests erupting at many places. The Sohna road in Ballabhgarh was blocked by people demanding justice for the victim.
ACP Rajiv Yadav of Faridabad rushed to the spot and assured the people that the police is ready to provide all possible help to the family of the victim. He also assured that both the accused will be punished.
On the other hand, the girl's brother while speaking to Zee News said that the accused Tausif wanted the student to convert to Islam. The family of the victim had made a complaint to the police in this regard in 2018.
The girl was shot dead by two youths outside the Aggarwal College on Monday evening. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera in which one can see the two accused coming out a white I20 car and trying to get hold of two girl students. After a verbal spat, one of the accused tries to pull the girl inside the car parked near the gate of the college in order to abduct her but as she resists, he pulls out a gun and shoots her in the back.
The tragic incident took place at around 3:30 pm. The victim was identified as 21-year-old Nikita, a final year student of B.Com course who had come out of the college after appearing for the exam.
