BJP’s Dr Challagali Kishore Kumar, Congress’ Jesudasu Seelam, YSR Congress Party's Nandigam Suresh and TDP’s Sriram Malyadri were the key candidates in fray in 2019.

2014: Malyadri Sriram(M) of the TDP had won the seat in the previous Lok Sabha election after he secured 578145 votes. He defeated Varikuti Amruthapani’s (M) of the YSRCP who got 545391.
2009: Lakshmi (F) of the Congress received 460757 votes. He defeated Malyadri Sriram(M) of the TDP who got 391419 votes.
2004: Daggubati Purandareswari (F) of the Congress secured 411099 votes and defeated Daggubati Ramanaidu (M) of the TDP who received 317017 votes.
